The Conference of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO) mission is to strengthen the position of minorities within the transportation industry by:
* Increasing the number of minorities appointed to executive positions; * Identifying, recruiting and developing emerging professionals for senior and executive level positions; * Assisting communities in the areas of education, awareness and service equity.
COMTO will accomplish this mission by:
* Promotion, strengthening and expanding the roles of minorities in all aspects of transportation; * Facilitating the link of public, private and academic institutions to support professional development among minorities in the transportation industry; and * Sponsoring and conducting local, state, and national forums that will enable the discussion of timely issues and topical concerns of the minority community.
